BBC declared that it was shutting down a number of its websites offline but it could not save its own online archives. It was too expensive or something. So, with the huge expense of $3.99, an anonymous geek spidered the BBC websites and downloaded all the data that they couldn’t bother to save. Now you can have your own copy.

Worth looking at today:

The Gates Foundation has bet $2 million (its first investment) on a Facebook app called Inigral which aims to improve the completion rate for college students by… err… making it like Facebook used to be. Personally I think it’s a great idea with a good chance of success; though it sort of makes me wonder what the world would be like if Facebook never opened up. Would we live in a world full of brilliant college graduates doing innovative things?

You now can have Twitter alerts that work like Google alerts. Does anyone else thing that this will result in an enormous amount of e-mail?
